3-2-1 Math Folder (Differentiation)
I created this differentiated folder for math. When students are complete with the days math lesson, the students go to the "3-2-1 folder." The student self-assesses him/herself, and chooses which number, 3, 2, or 1 to take. Each folder is organized by unit. For example: Unit 5 folder has 12 sections for Lesson 5-1, 5-2, 5-3 etc. Within each section there are 3 colored papers: green, pink and blue. The green papers represent: 1- "Can you reteach me?" which is taken from Everyday Math's resources "readiness." The pink papers represent 2- "I need a little more help." which is taken from Everyday Math's resources "extra practice." The blue papers represent 3- "I completely understand." which is taken from Everyday Math's resources "enrichment." This way I can also quickly see around the room which students need additional support. For example, in the case I see a student with a pink paper, I will reteach the lesson skill at the back table using manipulatives.
I also created a "3-2-1 stamp," which I stamp on the student's homework or class assignments.
